Getting injured workers back into the workplace can have an enormous impact on their physical and mental recovery as well as reducing claims costs.

This workshop will focus on how to achieve better outcomes through RTW intervention including some practical tips for:

  • Early intervention;
  • What to do when a RTW plan is stagnating;
  • Engaging the treating GP in the RTW process.

The panel will feature Dr Sid O’Toole and David Morris and it will be facilitated by Jacqi Marshall.

Dr O’Toole is an Occupational and Environmental Physician who is passionate about providing evidence-based services of value. He is a Director of Phoenix Occupational Medicine and has worked in Defence, Aviation, Mining, Agriculture and Transport industries.

David Morris is an Occupational Therapist working with WorkCover QLD, Self-Insurers, CTP Insurers, Life Insurers, legal firms and numerous employers within QLD and interstate. He has worked in an Occupational Rehabilitation setting for the past 15 years and was recognised for his contribution to the industry in 2012, winning the Q Comp Health Provider Achievement Award for Rehabilitation and Return to Work.
