BTLawyers is pleased to announce the appointment of Andrew Nielsen as Chief Executive Officer.
Andrew joins the BTLawyers team in this newly created role, bringing with him a wealth of experience in professional service firms both in Australia and overseas. In addition to a number of senior management positions in the corporate world, Andrew has also worked in leadership roles for major projects such as the Olympic Games and multi-billion dollar mergers and acquisitions.
Bruce Thomas, BTLawyers Director, said, “We identified recently there was a gap in our management team and the need for a CEO to come on board to free up Kerrie and I to focus more on our legal team and client work. Andrew joins us at an exciting time of growth for BTLawyers, as we develop our new practice areas in business disputes and litigation, family and personal law.”
Kerrie Jackson, BTLawyers Director agrees, “We’ve chosen an exceptional leader to join us to help drive our operational efficiency and strategic direction. Over the years, we’ve cultivated a progressive culture and Andrew aligns perfectly to our values. He has a proven track record in managing dynamic teams and in driving growth, and will be a valued addition to the team.”
With its heritage in insurance law, representing insurers, businesses and government departments, BTLawyers has developed unparalleled disciplines that deliver the best value for money for their clients. In more recent years, the firm has focused this business approach to new practice areas and the appointment of a CEO solidifies that commitment to seeing these new areas grow and succeed.
“We want to build on our momentum and with Andrew on board, we are confident we can move forward to capitalise on opportunities more effectively for both us and for our clients,” Bruce said.
Andrew said he was honoured to be appointed CEO of BTLawyers and privileged to be soon working with Bruce, Kerrie and the team.
“BTLawyers is a progressive firm with an outstanding reputation in the Queensland market, and I was impressed with the unique business model Bruce and Kerrie have developed to deliver value for their clients. It is an exciting time to be joining such a highly awarded firm. I look forward to working with the talented lawyers and staff at BTLawyers, and building on the high quality work it already does in the spaces of insurance, commercial and family law,” he said.
Andrew is married with two young daughters, is passionate about sport and loves the warm weather. Andrew will join BTLawyers in late June, and will be based out of their head office in Brisbane, Queensland.
