At BTLawyers, we believe we should use our knowledge to benefit individuals less fortunate than ourselves. This is why our firm offers pro bono legal services through the Queensland Law Society scheme.
It is also why we sponsor 15 World Vision children, make donations to the Fred Hollows Foundation, Medicens Sans Frontiers, Oxfam and the Australian Conservation Foundation. We support two other organisations that benefit enterprising individuals the world over.
We support Kiva
Kiva is an international non-profit, founded in 2005 and based in San Francisco, with a mission to connect people through lending to alleviate poverty. Kiva celebrate and support people looking to create a better future for themselves, their families and their communities. Kiva provide loans as little as $25, to help a borrower start or grow a business, go to school, access clean energy or realise their potential. For some, it’s a matter of survival, for others it’s the fuel for a life-long ambition.
We sponsor O.I Trust Bank West Timor
O.I., Opportunity International Australia, provides opportunities for people living in poverty to transform their lives. Rather than a hand-out, O.I. provides its clients with a loan as small as $100 to help grow their small business. This enables them to earn an income and afford food, water, shelter and an education for their children.
